EMF Protection: A Crucial Part of Lyme Disease Recovery
Most people who suffer from Lyme Disease become sensitive to chemicals, certain foods, light, noise, mold, and/or EMFs. EMF sensitivity happens because the chronically ill body is already functioning in an inhibited and broken state. EMFs are electromagnetic fields, that are invisible areas of energy. These invisible waves are constantly being emitted by anything with an electrical charge. So, pretty much anything that makes our lives easier… Cell phones, computers, lamps, Wi-Fi routers, DVR boxes, smart watches, power lines, cell towers, etc. According to Earth Calm, EMFs are harmful because they break your DNA strands, create stress hormones, weaken your blood brain barrier, disrupt cell functioning, and clog detoxification pathways in your body. Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt believes that EMFs are one of the foremost causes of disease today, especially cancer, and one of the factors that can hinder recovery from Lyme and other chronic illnesses.
Constant exposure to these frequencies can interact with your body causing an array of symptoms ranging from mild to severe. Common symptoms from EMF exposure can affect the entire body and may include:
Protecting yourself and minimizing exposure is important for optimal health. Dr. Klinghardt says that “EMF shielding does more for his patients than antibiotics and antimicrobial drugs”. There are many ways to reduce exposure to EMF radiation from simply changing your daily habits to purchasing special products.

Products for EMFs
Many products are available for electromagnetic shielding. Many of these are made with materials including metal screen, mesh, or foams. These products are designed to protect the user from harmful EMF radiation.
Ways to limit EMF exposure
Aside from purchasing protective products and gear, there are things you can do to reduce EMF exposure just by changing your daily habits. You can start by changing your sleeping environment. Sleep is extremely important, especially with chronic illness. Our body does most of its healing during rest. The easiest way to reduce your EMF exposure while you sleep is to unplug your Wi-Fi and all appliances. Turn off your cell phone, unplug cordless phones, and do not sleep with your phone in the same room.
Limit screen time
Use USB keyboards instead of laptop keyboards
Replace cordless phones with corded ones
Refrain from buying wireless gadgets
Move Wi-Fi router at least 20 feet away from where you work or relax
Disable Bluetooth and wireless on your phone while not in use
Keep your laptop on a desk, not on your lap
Reduce the number of “smart” devices such as watches, step counters, Bluetooth headphones, smart watches etc.
Air dry your hair instead of using a dryer
Get rid of your microwave
Remove lighting dimmers
Do not carry your phone in your pocket
With today’s modern lifestyle, it is impossible to avoid EMF exposure completely. However, you can do things to help reduce exposure and the negative effects. Changes in our daily habits and lifestyles may help our quality of life. Please remember that we are not health professionals, and the contents of this article are for informational purposes only.
